Princess Charlotte couldn’t contain herself when she saw the coffin of her great-grandmother aka Queen Elizabeth II being transferred to the hearse at Wellington Arch following the State Funeral on September 19, 2022. The internet was abuzz with praises and love as the young royal broke into tears.
As pictures of the 7-year-old burying her face in her hands began circulating on the internet, several royal fans took to Twitter to laud her for showing respect to the late monarch and handling the tragic event with grace and maturity beyond years. At the funeral, Princess Charlotte of Wales walked alongside her brother, Prince George, behind their great-grandmother’s casket, and later sat quietly sat next to their mother, Kate Middleton, while the Choir of Westminster Abbey sang the national anthem.

Charlotte was part of the royal family procession behind the Queen’s coffin alongside her parents, Prince Wiliam and Kate, and brother George, 9. The family made their way down the aisle of Westminster Abbey before Kate escorted them into the service.
